Instructions For Use

Please Note: This device is to be used ONLY with eradic8® A2Z Active Solution. The device is designed specifically for use with eradic8® A2Z and use of any other liquid will impair the performance, result in wetting and may even damage the device and void the warranty entirely.

It is recommended that, prior to using this device, surfaces and equipment within the room/area/vehicle to be disinfected are physically cleaned according to agreed infection control procedures and protocol.

Setting Up The Device

  1. Place the device on a flat surface at table/desk height near the centre of the room.
  2. Allow some ventilation to the room being treated i.e. where possible open a window (maximum quarter of opening capacity).
  3. Ensure that the power supply is properly connected to the device and plug socket.
  4. Using one of the A2Z Active Solution refill bottles unscrew the cap off the bottle, unclip the cap fitted to the tube coming out of the back of the device and screw onto the bottle. Keeping the bottle upright the bottle can now be placed into the back of the device. Replace the cap/tube by pushing the elbow back into the fitting on the cap. The bottle is now fitted and ready to be used in the device.

Operating The Device

  1. Switch on power source and ensure that the red LED is lit, the machine will self-calibrate, automatically empty and the digital display will read C during calibration. Calibration should only take a few seconds after which the digital display will read 0 . the machine is now ready for use.
  2. Select the cycle by pressing the Grey button repeatedly until the display shows the appropriate cycle number required, which is determined by the approximate room size for decontamination, as laid out below under "Recommended Cycle Selection".
  3. Press the red button and the device will commence operation - Note: there is a 2 minute delay to allow room evacuation before the device begins dispersing dry mist. The "Machine Running" light should flash green.
  4. On leaving the room the operator should set the belt-clip timer for the appropriate cycle time as an audible reminder when cycle is complete.
  5. Ensure the room or vehicle is unoccupied. Ensure the door to the room or vehicle is closed.
  6. Place on door of room or vehicle the warning sign indicating eradic8® A2Z Disinfecting Dry Mist System in Use.
  7. The device will beep every 30 seconds for the entire cycle operation. Once the cycle has finished there will be a continuous alarm sound for 30 seconds to indicate that the cycle is complete, the room can now be re-occupied and the device removed.
  8. If the device needs to be shut down at any time during operation press the red button. This will stop the cycle immediately and automatically empty the liquid from the machine.

Recommended Cycle Selection

Cycle 1 Ambulances or patient transport vehicles Set belt timer for 12 minutes
Cycle 2 Up to room size 3m x 4m x 3m, ie. single bed side wards Set belt timer for 45 minutes
Cycle 3 Up to room size 4m x 5m x 3m, ie. twin bed side wards, clinical treatment rooms Set belt timer for 75 minutes
Cycle 4 Up to room size 5m x 8m x 3m, ie. operating theatre room Set belt timer for 99 minutes
Warning: If someone enters the room during operation remove the person from the room and provide a drink of water, ideally move into a fresh air supply. If respiration is difficult, consult a doctor.
